In between the threat of frost on Sunday and the heat advisory on Tuesday, I started working up my raised beds to get ready for planting on Monday.  Turns out, I already have some lettuce growing!  Based on the location and my vague memory of last year's succession planting of the "salad bowl," I'm thinking it's probably some heirloom Black Seeded Simpson lettuce, which was a great variety with a mild, sweet flavor.  Here's hoping I can fit the shallots in without having to disturb it, or at least that I can get a nice little salad out of it before then.
