This little seedling had one heck of a time breaking free from the seed casing. You can see exactly where the seed casing was stuck for a couple of extra days and the growth of the seed leaves was effected (which, in my opinion, makes it all the more charming). Also, see the itty bitty new growth between the seed leaves? The first set of true leaves are not far away!
I've even had the seed coat stick on to the point that the leaves were joined at the tip, in ah upside-down heart shape. Now that I have a new heat mat, my seeds are finally sprouting, but it's so hard to be patient.
ReplyDeleteI've had a few like that from time to time as well! I've found that the heat mat makes a huge difference for the peppers - enjoy the sprouts! :)
